Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and other identifiers used by websites or embedded services. They can remember preferences, keep a site working, or support analytics and advertising.
2. Why TarkovHQ uses cookies
TarkovHQ may use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Strictly necessary functionality (for example remembering game mode).
- Security and website operation.
- Remembering consent or preference choices.
- Analytics (Google Analytics), only after you allow Analytics.
- Advertising and ad measurement in the future if AdSense is introduced — not currently active.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
Some technologies are required for the website to operate or to remember privacy choices. Detected on TarkovHQ today:
thq_game_modecookie (approximately one year,SameSite=Lax) so server-rendered pages can match your PvP / PvE / Season selection.- Matching
localStoragekeythq_game_mode(and a legacy keytc_game_modethat may be migrated). localStoragekeythq_consent_v2storing your Analytics / advertising preference choices (and a legacythq_consent_v1value that may be migrated).
Game-mode storage is treated as functional for the companion tools. Consent-preference storage that only remembers your privacy choices is treated as necessary for that control. Analytics and advertising cookies are not classified as strictly necessary.
4. Analytics cookies
Google Analytics 4 is installed (measurement ID G-C27W1MJ8SB). Consent Mode v2 defaults analytics storage to denied. The Analytics library loads and configures only after Analytics consent.
When active, Analytics can measure visits, page views, traffic sources, device and browser information and interactions with website features. After consent, Google may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. Exact lifetimes follow Google’s Analytics behaviour and property settings; TarkovHQ does not hard-code those periods.
In the UK, analytics cookies are not automatically exempt from consent requirements.
5. Advertising cookies
Google AdSense is not currently active. TarkovHQ does not currently set advertising cookies and does not load AdSense scripts or ad units.
If advertising is introduced later, technologies may support personalised or non-personalised ads, measurement, frequency capping and fraud prevention, and may involve Google and other advertising partners. Non-personalised advertising is not automatically cookie-free or exempt from consent rules.
For UK, EEA and Swiss visitors, Google generally requires a Google-certified CMP integrated with the IAB TCF before personalised AdSense ads. The preferred approach for TarkovHQ is Google’s Privacy & messaging CMP, configured in the AdSense dashboard before ads go live. Until then, this site does not list hypothetical advertising cookie names as active.
6. Managing cookie preferences
On a first visit you can Accept all, Reject optional, or Manage preferences. Use the persistent footer control any time to change or withdraw optional consent as easily as you gave it.
Analytics and advertising preferences are recorded separately. Advertising remains inactive while AdSense is off, even if you record a future advertising preference.
This site preference UI updates Google Consent Mode v2 signals for Analytics. It is not Google’s certified Privacy & messaging CMP. When AdSense is enabled, the owner must still configure Google’s certified CMP in AdSense Privacy & messaging so UK/EEA/Swiss advertising consent is handled through that certified platform.
7. Browser settings
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain technologies may affect website features such as remembering game mode.
8. Third-party cookies
Third-party services may set or access their own cookies or identifiers when their scripts run (for example Google Analytics after consent). See Google’s policies:
9. Changes to the policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated as technologies and services change. The last-updated date will be revised when material changes are published.
