Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026 · Mode context: PvP
1. Introduction
TarkovHQ (https://tarkovhq.dev/) is an independent Escape from Tarkov companion website. It provides tools and information such as an item database, ammunition charts, flea market price references, trader loyalty and barter information, quests, a weapon builder with attachment compatibility, and related game-mode aware references for PvP, PvE and Season profiles.
This Privacy Policy explains how visitor information may be collected, used, stored and shared when you use TarkovHQ. It is written for a public companion website that does not require an account to use its main tools.
2. Who operates TarkovHQ
Website: https://tarkovhq.dev/
Contact: dev@tarkovhq.dev
TarkovHQ is operated by an individual acting as the data controller. For publication purposes the controller is identified as [SirLootTheLot] until the full legal name is confirmed.
TarkovHQ is not operated by a registered company. No company number or business address is claimed. Before relying on this policy as a complete UK GDPR controller notice, the owner should confirm the controller’s full legal name and any postal contact address they wish to publish. Until then, enquiries should be sent to dev@tarkovhq.dev.
3. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use TarkovHQ and which technologies are active, we may process:
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system and device characteristics.
- Usage information such as referring pages, pages visited, dates and times of visits, and interactions with website features.
- Approximate location derived from IP address where a provider makes that available.
- Diagnostic information and server or hosting logs created while operating the website.
- Information you voluntarily send when emailing dev@tarkovhq.dev.
- Cookie and similar technology preferences, where a consent mechanism records them.
- Analytics identifiers where Google Analytics is active after consent.
- Advertising identifiers only if advertising technologies are introduced in the future and you consent where required (AdSense is not currently active).
TarkovHQ does not currently require visitors to register an account to use its public tools, and it does not operate a public user profile system in the application.
TarkovHQ does process personal data in the ordinary sense of that term under UK GDPR when identifiers such as IP addresses, cookie identifiers or email correspondence are involved. We do not claim that no personal data is collected.
4. How we use information
We may use information to:
- Operate, maintain and secure the website.
- Provide item, ammo, flea, trader, quest and weapon-builder tools.
- Diagnose errors and improve performance.
- Understand traffic and how features are used.
- Measure advertising performance only if advertising technologies are introduced later.
- Prevent abuse and protect the service.
- Respond to enquiries sent to our contact email.
- Meet legal obligations where they apply.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on different lawful bases for different processing:
- Legitimate interests — for example operating the website, securing it, responding to abuse, and using strictly necessary technologies that make the service work.
- Consent — for non-essential analytics and advertising technologies where consent is required.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.
- Contract — only where processing is needed to take steps at your request or perform a contract; most public browsing of TarkovHQ does not rely on this basis.
Consent is not treated as the lawful basis for every activity. Analytics and advertising technologies that require consent must not run before the required consent is obtained.
6. Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is installed on TarkovHQ with measurement ID G-C27W1MJ8SB (gtag.js). The site uses Google Consent Mode v2: analytics storage defaults to denied, and the Analytics library is loaded and configured only after you allow Analytics through the cookie preference controls (stored locally as thq_consent_v2).
When Analytics storage is granted, Google may help us understand pages visited, traffic sources, device and browser information, interactions with features, and aggregated visitor statistics. Google may process information as described in its own policies. Typical Analytics cookies, when set after consent, include identifiers such as _ga and _ga_*; exact cookie lifetimes are controlled by Google’s Analytics implementation and the property settings, not hard-coded in TarkovHQ.
Further information:
Consent Mode communicates your choice to Google tags; it does not by itself replace a lawful consent mechanism. TarkovHQ does not claim that Analytics data is completely anonymous.
7. Google AdSense and advertising
Google AdSense is not currently active on TarkovHQ. No AdSense script, publisher ID or ad units are installed in the live application for serving advertisements.
Advertising may be introduced in the future. Before ads are shown, the owner intends to use a Google-certified consent management platform — preferably Google’s own Privacy & messaging CMP (IAB TCF CMP ID 300) configured in the AdSense Privacy & messaging dashboard — and to pass appropriate consent signals for UK, EEA and Swiss visitors.
If AdSense is enabled later, advertising providers may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, browser information, advertising identifiers and website interaction information for ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement, fraud prevention and personalised or non-personalised advertising as permitted. Until then, TarkovHQ does not list active advertising cookies.
Preference controls may let you record an advertising preference in advance, but advertising storage and AdSense tags remain off while AdSense is inactive. Useful references for when ads are introduced:
8. Google Search Console
TarkovHQ uses Google Search Console. The operator uses it to monitor search performance, search queries, impressions, clicks, indexing and crawling status, and search-related technical issues.
Search Console is a website-owner reporting service. It is not a visitor-facing tracking cookie service like Analytics, and it does not give TarkovHQ access to visitors’ personal Google accounts or private search histories.
No Search Console HTML verification meta tag or verification file was found in this application repository; verification may be completed through DNS or another method outside the app source. Google’s privacy information is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
TarkovHQ uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage. Essential technologies support core features such as remembering your selected game mode (PvP, PvE or Season). Non-essential analytics and advertising technologies require appropriate consent where the law requires it.
For details, see our Cookie Policy. You can open site preference controls via .
10. Third-party services
TarkovHQ relies on third-party services to operate. Services reflected in the application include:
- Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) for usage measurement when you allow Analytics.
- Google Search Console for operator-side search and indexing reports (not a visitor cookie tracker).
- Google Fonts for site typography.
- Tarkov.dev API and
assets.tarkov.devfor community game data and item images. - Hosting / infrastructure providers used to serve the website (configuration outside this repository may also include edge services such as Cloudflare; those are not declared in application source).
- PostgreSQL may store cached Escape from Tarkov game item data used by the companion tools. Visitor accounts and visitor personal profiles are not stored there.
Google AdSense is planned for the future but is not currently active and is not listed here as an active processor of visitor advertising data.
Third parties have their own privacy policies. TarkovHQ does not control how those providers operate their platforms.
11. Data sharing
Information may be shared with:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that keep the site online.
- Analytics providers such as Google when Analytics is active.
- Advertising providers such as Google only if AdSense or related ads technologies are introduced later.
- Security or abuse-prevention providers where used at the hosting edge.
- Authorities where disclosure is legally required.
TarkovHQ does not sell personal data as a commercial product. When Analytics runs after consent, Google may receive technical and usage data as part of that service.
12. International data transfers
Google and other providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, those providers are responsible for describing the mechanisms they use. TarkovHQ does not claim that every provider stores information only in the UK.
13. Data retention
Information is kept only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected:
- Server and hosting logs — generally for operational troubleshooting and security, according to hosting configuration (exact periods are not hard-coded in the application).
- Email enquiries — for as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable correspondence record.
- Analytics data — according to the Google Analytics property settings chosen by the operator.
- Consent preference records in local storage (
thq_consent_v2) — until changed, withdrawn or cleared by you or your browser. - Future advertising / CMP records — according to Google Privacy & messaging or other CMP tools once AdSense is configured.
- Game-mode preference cookie / local storage — until changed or cleared (the site sets a one-year cookie lifetime for the mode preference).
14. Your privacy rights
Depending on circumstances and the lawful basis used, you may have rights under UK GDPR including: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability where applicable, and withdrawal of consent. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: https://ico.org.uk/.
To exercise rights that TarkovHQ can reasonably fulfil, contact dev@tarkovhq.dev. Some requests relating to Google Analytics or ads identifiers may also need to be managed through Google’s own tools.
15. Children’s privacy
TarkovHQ is a gaming companion website and is not specifically directed at children. It does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children and does not operate an age-verification system.
16. Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect the website, including HTTPS delivery and security headers in the application. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
17. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as TarkovHQ’s tools, hosting or third-party services change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
