Soft vs armoured
Soft rigs are storage-only carriers. Armoured rigs add a positive armour class, durability and protected zones — the same property family as dedicated body armour.
Compare soft chest rigs and armoured plate carriers for the selected PvP profile. Capacity, storage grids, armour class, durability, plate slots, movement penalties and market prices come from cached Tarkov.dev item properties — never invented. Pair this table with the armour database, ammo chart and flea market.

Capacity is total inventory cells. Grid layouts show each pocket size (for example 1×2 or 2×2) returned by the API so you can compare pocket shapes, not only total slots.
Armoured carriers expose plate slots and soft-armour panels with class, durability and allowed plate lists when Tarkov.dev provides them.
Speed, turning and ergonomics penalties are API fractions shown as percentages. Trader buy/sell and flea columns are cached snapshots — not a live flea feed.

and classed plate carriers. Soft unarmoured rigs that the
armour database excludes appear here so you can compare pure storage options.

Click a row to expand storage grids, plate slots, protection, movement and market details. Use the mode selector when trader or flea prices differ between PvP and PvE. For dedicated body armour and helmets, open the armour database; for round penetration, use the ammo chart.
